Abstract :
In the forward link of many WCDMA proposals for IMT-2000, pilot symbol aided coherent demodulation (PSACD) is employed. The more pilot symbols there are, the more accurate the channel estimation is, but this will cause more information loss. This paper analyzes this trade-off by deriving the analytical error performance and performance loss due to pilot symbol aided coherent demodulation. Thus we can optimize the space between two neighbor pilot symbols.
