  • Abstract
    In this paper, new excitation amplitudes based on Gaussian distribution are used to improve the radiation characteristics of millimeter-wave patch array antenna operating at 30 GHz. To prove the concept, we compare different traditional excitation amplitudes with the Gaussian one for uniform linear array (ULA) and uniform planar array (UPA). We apply the Gaussian excitation amplitudes to 32 patch antenna elements for the ULA while we use 8 × 8 patch antenna elements for the UPA.
