Abstract :
We show the temperature sensitivity of long period gratings (LPGs) in fibre can be completely eliminated by using the outer cladding index. Blue shift of LPG combined with a red shift caused by the recoating led to a temperature sensitivity of 0.07 nm/100/spl deg/C.
