  • Abstract
Crowds in the school building are often observed because there are many students on weekdays in campus. Especially, corridors and stairs in the school building are significantly crowded due to flow of students between a break. The crowd accident might occur in such a crowded place, therefore we should quantitatively perceive the degree of crowding and discuss some kind of measures to reduce overcrowding at there. In this research, we evaluate the congestion of student at some locations where crowd accidents likely occur in a break between classes, by simulating the flow of students in the school building of Kansai University. First, we construct a model representing the school building by considering the connection topology of lecture rooms, corridors, stairs and entrances. On the basis of crowd simulation on the model, we then analyze the flow of students and estimate the level of congestion at locations.
