  • Abstract
    8/spl times/8 2-D VCSEL/PD arrays were interconnected by an image fiber for the first time. Optical alignment was achieved without power-monitoring. The crosstalk was /spl sim/34 dB and the misalignment tolerance for a BER of 10/sup -9/ was 85 /spl mu/m and the evaluated total throughput is 2.25 Tbps.
