Abstract :
A general DS/CDMA system for support of wireless multimedia services is proposed, which can unify several different existing multi-code systems. We use a code, which we refer to as a “mapping code”, to help form a multidimensional signal constellation. Performance analysis is presented for the system with a particular class of mapping codes known as bipolar constant weight codes, based on the assumption of Gaussian multiple access interference. Numerical results are given to show the effects of system configuration, data rate, threshold level, etc
