    Firstly, the present research about defining progressive die edge´s complexity and expressing the complexity mathematically was introduced. In this paper, the research about how to describe and measure a graphic´s complexity was emphasized, two quantificational definition, B and C, were brought forward and the method to calculate C was presented. Combining with the theory about image detection in the pattern recognition, the way to calculate B was presented. According to the experience, the relationship between B and C was deduced. In the end, a foreground about research on the complexity was issued.
