Abstract
This research is conducted to analyze the partial discharge deterioration with a needle shape void by the discharge magnitude and the luminous intensity distribution in each phase angle area. The discharge pulses and discharge luminescence are measured by a special measurement system to analyze the discharge magnitude and luminous image according to several phase angle areas of applied voltage. In particular, in this study, we focused on the discharge luminous image in each phase angle area. The luminous image was recorded on VTR with a CCD camera, and the image was digitized by a computer after the experiment
