Both qualitative and quantitative analysis have been adopted as research methods in this article, combined with approaches such as cluster and comparative analysis, to help conduct a study on the following indicators of China´s inbound tourism market between 1995 and 2009: tourist sources distribution, age composition, travel motivation, consumption composition, travel destination etc. The study managed to bring forth a series of strategies and suggestions for the development of China´s inbound tourism market in terms of expanding inbound tourist sources, featuring different inbound tourism products, optimizing tourism supply structure and enhancing tourism policy support.
