Abstract
Cellular scanning by geodesic sphere phased arrays-a new electronic scanning concept with a new phased array architecture is introduced. The new phased array consists of N number of substantially equilateral triangular shaped planar subarrays arranged in the geodesic sphere configuration that will provide coverage of the entire sky for multi-satellite communication. Adjacent vertices of the geodesic sphere define the cellular communication space. Preliminary design calculations are presented to estimate the construction parameters for an application.
