Abstract :
We developed a 40 Gb/s single-drive X-cut LiNbO/sub 3/ optical modulator with a driving-voltage of 2V. This modulator employs a novel thin-sheet LiNbO/sub 3/ structure, and has high potential for suppressed dc-drift, zero-chirp, and long-term reliability.
