Abstract
A spatio-temporal radio channel model was developed using classical electromagnetic scattering results. Analytical solutions of the scattering problem for objects with simple shapes, the sphere and the cylinder, were used to calculate the received field at the receiving antenna. The full electromagnetic field is used to calculate the impulse response of the time-varying channel. Furthermore, since the model is based on fundamental physics, many different propagation phenomena are included. It is also possible to relate the performance of communications schemes to physical parameters and structures.
