Abstract :
The exponential growth in technology has resulted in African nations acquiring the technologies needed for their development, and providing the necessary skills to their operators. Deployment of the technologies requires an appreciation, and a good understanding of the ambient conditions. This is particularly necessary for wireless applications. Research relating to these technologies is undertaken by students and faculty members at universities and colleges. This paper discusses judicious selection of research topics and research methods, and introduces atmospheric conditions in a Sub-Saharan nation, Ghana, into an appropriate course to achieve intended objectives of preparing graduates for the Telecommunications Industry.
