Abstract :
A compact dual-band antenna for 2.3/3.3 GHz WiMAX Application in Indonesia is proposed. The proposed antenna which uses Coplanar Waveguide (CPW) configuration is printed on a substrate with relative permittivity and thickness of 4.3 and 1.6 mm, respectively. The overall antenna dimensions are only 30mm × 40mm, approximately. In order to obtain the desired frequency bands at 2.3/3.3 GHz, a double meander-line slot is loaded to monopole rectangular patch which represents metamaterial left-handed transmission line (LH-TL) cells. The antenna is fed by a 50 Ω microstrip line. The proposed antenna is numerically and experimentally characterized, in terms of return loss, bandwidth, gain and radiation pattern. From the numerical analysis, it shows that the proposed antenna works well at 2.3 GHz and 3.3 Ghz with -10dB bandwidth of 10.046% and 4.935%, respectively. The overall gain for 2.3 GHz and 3.3 GHz is about 2.162 dBi and 1.924 dBi, respectively.
