Abstract
The accumulation of static charge occurs more readily in dielectric liquids, such as transformer oil, due to flowing electrification, which is potentially hazardous for utilization, storage and transportation. In this paper, the investigation of atmospheric breakdown due to static charge in transformer oil was performed using test models. The experimental results show that there is an apparent polarity effect for the induced discharge. Also, the environmental humidity, temperature and electric field structure play important roles in the induced discharge
