  • Abstract
Molecular communication is an emerging communication paradigm at the nano-to-micro scale. In molecular communication, a group of sender bio-nanomachines encodes information onto molecules and releases the molecules into the environment. The information-encoded molecules then propagate in the environment and are received by another group of bio-nanomachines that biochemically reacts to the molecules to decode information. Here we report our recent work on molecular communication that is incorporated into the design of mobile bionanosensor networks. In our design of mobile bionanosensor networks, bio-nanomachines cooperate through molecular communication in locating and tracking moving targets. Numerical results are provided to show that a group of bio-nanomachines collectively locates and tracks moving targets when parameters for molecular communication are properly tuned.
