  • Abstract
Space borne Submillimeter-wave remote sensing spectrometers enable unique science addressing key questions regarding our Universe. Measurements from the MLS instrument have shed light on ozone chemistry. More recently, the HIFI instrument on Herschel Space Observatory has made key discoveries regarding star formation and even planetary atmospheres. This paper will discuss recent technology development efforts that will enable the next generation of submillimeter-wave spectrometers. These instruments will be compact, low power and enable multi-pixel imaging of targets.
