Abstract :
This paper describes the basic concepts of the PROMIS methodology for system´s Prognostic Health Management (PHM). The key elements of the PROMIS methodology are: (i) system health is monitored by continuously measuring so-called Condition Parameters (CPs), representing the physical condition of critical system components, (ii) CPs are derived using model-based estimation processes so that the existing set of sensors is exploited as much as possible, and (iii) the remaining lifetime of components is calculated using aging models and the expected system load.
