  • Abstract
Pulse transmission is nonsinusodial technique that allows the use of much larger processing gain, providing to a significantly increased capacity. A lower limit on the effective capacity (in bits/s) of a pulse position shift keyed pulse position hopped CDMA (PPH-CDMA) system, is derived. The result is related to a on-off keyed system. Numerical evaluation that supports the theoretical results, that a system can handle more than 30000 active users per cell, is presented as well
