Abstract
This study introduced the designs of a database and indexes for local vitalization. As the first step, Japanese 180 cities´ information is stored in the database and analyzed. In the analysis, not only visualization of basic information but also newly structured index expressing local vitalization, degrees of local vitality, internal vitalization, and exchange vitalization, were used. This study tries to resolve four issues of the index design, interactive, comprehensive, quantitative, and structural. As the result of the study, a common design of the database and data-based visualization tool is useful for understanding a local status correctly. Indexes of vitalization are useful to compare well contrast.
