  • Abstract
Approaches to deliver the stories to children varies. Modern days opt for the electronic medium such as TV programs, video and digital games. Game-based application has proven to attract children to stay focus and thus enhance their awareness of the content. However, games may come in various genre. Therefore this preliminary study seeks to identify the game genre that better suited to be used to deliver the story content. Three different genre of educational games: puzzle, platform and adventure game have been developed with the same story content. A group of 30 children, aged between 9 to 10 years old have been randomly selected to test which of the genre creates more awareness of the content in the game-based learning. Results showed that the platform game-based storytelling is able to increase the knowledge of the story content.
