  • Abstract
    This article puts forward the issue of low location accuracy that the centroid of overlap region is estimated position in process of approximate point-in-triangulation test three dimension (APIT-3D) for wireless sensor networks (WSNs). To deal with it, the method based on fermat-point (FM) divided was proposed in the three-dimensional localization algorithm of APIT, named FM-APIT-3D algorithm. By finding the position of fermat-point in the testing triangular pyramid, it would be divided into four small testing triangular pyramids. Simulation results prove FM-APIT-3D algorithm can remarkably improvement localization accuracy and coverage rate compared to APIT-3D.
