Abstract
The performance, efficiency and torque characteristics of switched reluctance machines combined with its robust, low cost construction makes that technology an interesting alternative to other machine types chosen for traction applications especially starter/generator. Despite all that merits, the SRM still suffers from many difficulties to build its model because of its inherently multivariable, the strong coupling and especially its high nonlinearity. In this paper, we deal with many modeling methods include numerical, analytical and intelligent approaches are studied. The important aim in this research is to use static results from FEMM simulation as flux-linkage, co-energy, static torque to form a dynamic model of a switched reluctance machine used next as a starter -generator of a hybrid vehicle.
