Abstract
We present a hybrid performance index for fuzzy identification. This hybrid index considers not only model precision but also some semantic constraints on inferred fuzzy sets. Box´s (1970) furnace data are employed to demonstrate the precision-and-semantics-based approach for fuzzy identification
