Abstract
This brief note describes how switching between a finite family of controllers can be used to improve the closed loop performance. At each sampling time instant the supervisor makes a decision about which of the controllers in the family to use in an attempt to improve performance. The scheme is implemented in a model-predictive fashion and it is shown how stability and pointwise-in-time state and control constraints can be incorporated
