  • Abstract
A novel multi-level pseudo-random number generator is proposed to improve random pulsewidth modulation (RPWM) techniques by increasing the length of their nonrepeatable switching-frequency sequence. This paper addresses the proposed generator and experimentally illustrates the advantages of employing such a generator to randomize the switching frequency in RPWM techniques. The example of a two-level PWM VSI 3-phase induction motor drive with a DSP based digital controller is discussed
