Abstract
Due to drastic changes in global and climatic trends, water management has become an increasingly difficult task. In this paper, we proposed framework to assist water management bodies, enable them more adaptive towards the changes. This approach will highlight the use of ICT based solution for efficient water resources management in turn to mitigate risk from riverine flood disaster and agricultural development with efficient water distribution. We proposed a sensor based Grid for Decision Support System, where contextual water flow information is received using sensor network, statically processed information and climate variability, irrigational water utilization forecasting to monitor and control the flow of water in rivers and canals. It will provide a decision support system for optimally utilizing available resources. The system will not only reduce water scarceness optimally, but also play a vital role in the development of agriculture, economic growth of the community, and indirectly the development of the country.
