Abstract
The describing function (DF) method offers a useful tool to analyze control systems with separable nonlinearities. In this paper, the method is utilized together with some of the well-established robustness tools for linear systems and the fundamental concepts of circular arithmetic in order to study the stability of nonlinear systems suffering from both complex disc and norm-bounded perturbations. Numerical examples are provided to illustrate the mathematical results which are, of course, subject to the usual errors and restrictions of the DF approach
