Abstract
This article demonstrates that remote condition monitoring of track circuits is a highly cost effective way of improving reliability. By designing monitoring systems to make the outputs for VT1 and HVI track circuits conform to the same asset model and diagnostic tools as for DC track circuits a standard approach can be adopted throughout.
