Abstract
This paper focuses upon an approach to generate the electrical energy from wind by mounting specially designed wind turbines on the roof of moving rail locomotives (trains). In this work, three blade wind turbine system constructed using aerofoil is proposed. In proposed model, wind turbine is arranged in bus bar arrangement. The power developed by the implementation of aforementioned design is used to fulfil all the requirements for electrical appliances of a train coach (tube lights, fans etc). The aim of this research paper is to exploit the kinetic energy of air for generation of electrical energy, by implementing suitable arrangements on large vehicles. This technology will help reduce drastically, the fuel consumption required for the electrical power generation.
