Abstract :
Conformal dynamic arcing (CD-ARC) is a relatively new treatment modality where the dynamic multileaf collimator (dMLC) leaf positions can change dynamically during gantry rotation. Like intensity modulation and tomotherapy, CD-ARC can be used to generate complex isodose distributions. The goal of this work is to determine the effects of MLC leaf velocity on leaf position error and measure any dose rate dependent dosimetric error produced during conformal dynamic arcing. Although leaf position error and dosimetric deviations can be produced during conformal dynamic arcing, these errors can be avoided by considering these factors during leaf sequencing and treatment planning
