Abstract :
A new technique for the accurate calculation of complex dielectric properties of materials is presented. This technique is based on an optimization procedure which makes use of scattering measurements and simulated results of a cylindrical rod of dielectric material passing through a rectangular waveguide completely. The simulation tool employed is based on a very accurate hybrid iterative method. Results for the dielectric properties of low and high loss materials are presented and compared with results from technical literature.
