  • Abstract
    The heat loss from surface of concrete has significant influence on the performance of pipe cooling system. Therefore, such heat loss must be taken into account in analyzing the temperature field in concrete with pipe cooling system, which however has been mostly ignored in traditional methods applied in medium-sized or large engineering projects because of its complexity. In this paper two methods are presented to analyze the influence of the heat loss from surface of concrete on the performance of pipe cooling system. Since these two methods involve all factors, including initial temperature difference, hydration heat of cement and the heat loss from surface which influence the performance of pipe cooling system, the results calculated based on these two methods in this paper are closer to the real values than other methods which are too simplified.
