Abstract :
World Wide Web is a vast reservoir of information. Websites are a composition of materials often consisting of texts, images, audio and video. Designing, Producing and Maintaining a sophisticated Website is expensive and protecting ownership of content is extremely important. Every one with a computer and internet connection can create his own webpage and thus becomes a publisher. Hence the rules of copyright are applicable to millions of people now. The information is mined from the web using various tools like search engines. The links displayed by the search engine have issues like Deep Linking, IMG linking and Framing that are normally being used in the Internet, is a violation of copyright rules. This paper highlights the scenario when the contents of our website are exploited by others without our knowledge or permission and the copyright issues based on Indian Law.
