Abstract :
In this paper, we investigate the power amplifier design for underwater acoustic OFDM systems. Using the pilot signal to noise ratio (PSNR) of an OFDM signal as the design criterion, we study the impact of the modulation frequency and the number of quantization bits for the class-D power amplifiers. Experimental results show that there is PSNR performance ceiling as the number of quantization bits increases.
