  • Abstract
    In this paper, we analyze a permanent-magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) with a slotless stator considering the magnetic and mechanical air gap using the semi three-dimensional (3-D) analytical method. We employ various methods to perform characteristic analyses of PMSGs, such as the numerical method and the analytical method. The 3-D analysis method is also among the methods employed, but it requires complex and time-intensive mathematical operations. On the other hand, the semi-3-D analytical method with the numerical method has an advantage that it can be analyzed easily. In addition, we propose a method for calculating the electrical parameters considering the magnetic and mechanical air gap using the semi-3-D analytical approach.
