Abstract
This letter proposes a decentralized power allocation approach for random access with capabilities of multi-packet reception (MPR) and successive interference cancellation (SIC). Considering specific features of SIC, a bottom-up per-level algorithm is proposed to obtain discrete transmission power levels and the corresponding probabilities. Comparing with the conventional power allocation scheme with MPR and SIC, our approach significantly improves the system sum rate; this is confirmed by computer simulations.
