Abstract :
This paper presents a circuit design for data acquisition of Surface-Electromyographic Signals together with a description of the main signal characteristics. The proposed circuit is developed with integrated circuits, an instrumentation amplifier and active filters using operation amplifiers. This paper also demonstrates all the steps for deriving transfer functions and equations necessary for specifying the components. Simulations and experimental results, as well as signal capture with electrodes, are presented in order to validate the theoretical analyses carried out. Lastly, as it becomes clear within the text, the circuit shows an adequate behavior, being an interesting solution for data acquisition in Surface Electromyographic Systems.
