Abstract
Having in view a complexity of contemporary communication systems, the use of analytical and simulation tools is practically inevitable. In this paper some thoughts concerning the problem of communication systems modelling are presented. The various approaches (and tools) to modelling, starting from "purely" mathematical models and ending with Monte Carlo simulation (shortly) are commented.
