Abstract
A novel channel estimation using the Constant Modulus Algorithm (CMA) and the performance of Maximum Likelihood Sequence Detection (MLSD) with the Viterbi Algorithm (VA) using the estimated channel from the CMA for different MLSD structures is presented in this paper. The CMA is very simple and the resulting Bit Error Rates (BERs) obtained for stationary and time-varying channels with different MLSD structures indicate that the CMA is sufficient for channel estimation.
