Abstract :
Electromagnetic field problems are generally solved in terms of the electric scalar potential V and magnetic vector potential A since most of the physically measurable quantities are easily derivable from V and A. In most FEM analysis the equations for static, quasi-static or time-varying fields are first described using the electric scalar and magnetic vector potentials which are then solved using FEM. In the paper a very general conclusion is developed in the generalized orthogonal coordinate system, using the generalized unit vectors u/sub 1/, u/sub 2/ and u/sub 3/, together with the Lamee´s coefficients h/sub 1/, h/sub 2/ and h/sub 3/.
