Abstract :
This paper discusses the transmission of signals above 150 MHz in real passive optical multimode networks, focusing on the choice of network architecture and a media access protocol for low-cost access and local area networks. Experimental results for tested networks incorporating gradient multimode 50/50 couplers (FOCI) and Agilent HFBR electro-optical transceivers are presented.
