Abstract
In the present work developed X-ray digital portable scanner operating in "quantum" imaging mode with improved dynamic range in contrast of the observed X-ray images is demonstrated. Detection unit is based on semi-insulating GaAs strip line detectors with pitch 0.25 mm and absorption length of strip 1.25 mm with detection efficiency over 60 %for detection of 60 keV photons at a bias of 200 V. Readout electronics consists of 480 channels dc coupled with detectors. Scanned area has dimensions 12/spl times/15 cm/sup 2/. Collected data are used for creation of X-ray "quantum´´ images of selected test objects using the developed imaging software.
