Abstract :
A novel, nonconventional family of power converters for low-voltage high-current applications based on a peculiar series connection of the primary windings is presented. On the secondary side, all the semiconductors are directly connected in parallel without resorting to the use of interphase transformers or any other current sharing means. The series connection of the primaries ensures current sharing while the zigzag arrangement provides the desired pulse number. Several prototypes were assembled to verify the validity of the theoretical analysis. All the results confirmed the analysis.
