  • Abstract
Overlapping decomposition of traffic networks for decentralized routing control is investigated within the framework of the extension principle. Once an overlapping decomposition is identified for a traffic network, an expansion of this network is obtained, where overlapping parts of the subnetworks appear as disjoint. Decentralized controllers are then designed for each subnetwork. These controllers are combined and then contracted for implementation on the original network in the final phase.
