Abstract :
This paper describes a method used to design a Slovak speech database for limited domain TTS within an IVR system. The system should provide the user with information about weather forecasts and train departures without the need to communicate with a human operator. Within the mentioned domains some smaller and more strictly closed domains have been identified such as numerals and station names. Different design method for each sub-domain was used. This paper presents ideas and considerations of the authors on basis of which they approached the problem. As a result of this work a speech database of approximately 1 hour length was recorded
