Abstract :
The subject of this study is 3 dimensional reconstruction of coronary vessel segments from its edges in three arbitrarily projected images. Firstly edge detection process is performed on the images. The centerline and edge points of the related vessel are determined with a parametric model based edge detection method. The parametric model is not a linear model. Therefore, in order to determine the parameters of the model a nonlinear estimation algorithm, Marquardt-Levenberg algorithm, is used. Three dimensional vessel model is represented by generalized cylinder model with elliptical cross-section. Parallel projection geometry is used in three dimensional reconstruction. Performance of the proposed method is tested on not only computer generated but also real images.
