Abstract :
Several soft decision decoding techniques are presented for DS/DPSK signaling over pulse jammed channels. The performance of the maximum likelihood soft decision metric and a number of suboptimal soft decision metrics is considered. Soft decision metrics require channel side information for satisfactory performance. Several effective techniques are investigated for generating channel side information to mitigate the effects of pulse jamming.
