  • Abstract
An approach to the second order statistics analysis of dual selection combining (SC) macrodiversity system´s output in the presence of independent Hoyt fading is presented in this paper. The average level crossing rate (LCR) and the average fade duration (AFD) of the macrodiversity system´s output signal are analyzed. The macrodiversity system consists of two SC microdiversity systems with uncorrelated branches in the presence of Hoyt fading, and the selection is based on their output signal´s average power values. The average power of the output signal is modeled by Gamma distribution. Analytical results for the level crossing rate (LCR) and average fade duration (AFD) of the output signal envelope are graphically presented. The main contribution of this paper is that performances analysis of this macrocombiner type has been done for the first time regarding the presence of independent Hoyt fading at the microcombiner input branches.
