Abstract :
We propose a modified channel model for 60 GHz wireless systems. This model includes the effects of directional antennas and polarization. We study the statistics of the angular parameters of the channel model and simplify an existing channel model for practical applications. The effects of antenna beamwidth in commonly encountered scenarios are investigated. The results can be used as the basis for cost analysis. We also simulate the performance of the channel and compare our results with non-directional transmission.
